Group Activity Checklist

Our group has many activities going on and so many helpful people!

I will provide a summary here of our activities

All activites have a due date near the end of the month. Yes, we try to make life easier for you! Who needs to have more dates to remember!

You may utilize this post as a checklist to see if you have done all of the activities for the month (or simply to make sure you've seen all the details for the month from this blog).

Activities for you to complete are listed in red font.


1) Layout of the Week (LOTW). Each week, Kendra collects all of the layouts sharing in the main group and in the SMILE groups and picks one as the LOTW.

2) Group Member of the Month. Each month a member of the group is chosen and highlighed with warm fuzzies!

3) Monthly Layout Challenge. Each month our group has a layout challenge. Layouts should be shared with the group and then put in the appropriate folder in the photo section. On the 1st of each month, a poll is set up for members to vote for the winner. The poll is closed on the 5th of each month. We thank our sponsors!

4) BINGO/Game - Near the end of the month, Lori will put out a list of BINGO words. You will need to pick your "board" from the list of words and e-mail it back to her privately before the end of the month. On the first day of the next month, she will begin calling words. The first person to have all of their words called from her board, wins. Lori reserves the right to switch this up and choose a different game for variety every once in a while. 5) First To's: This is a fun game that generates lots of inspiration and inspires people to create layouts. A post will be made stating, for example, "First to post a layout with a baby" and the first post to reach the archives of the group is the winner. You may use a layout you have already created if it applies or you may have to create a new layout. We thank our sponsors!

6) Recipes: Each month Gina will pick a topic for us to inspire us to create recipe cards. Cards are shared at her Fotki site. Details for sharing are on the blog.

7) Photos Done Many Ways: Each month we will choose a different person to submit photos and journaling to the group so everyone can submit a page using those photos. Share your layout with the group, upload it to the photo section, then send the full version to the person directly. Each three months that you participate in will enter you in the "hat" to be drawn to submit your photos. It is important that you upload your submissions to the Yahoo Group photo gallery so that you may receive credit.

8) Title Game: Each month a photo is submitted by the previous month's winner. Think of a title for this photo and add it to the database (you have to sign into the group). There is no limit on submissions. After the last day of the month, the owner of the photo will choose a title as the winner. What do you win? Your photo of choice will be posted for the next month and you get to choose the next winner! Please create a layout with the title and share it with the group.

9) Book-Mag Club: Our group will select one book (which sometimes may look like a magazine) and allow everyone time to purchase the book-mag. Then the moderator of that particular discussion will initiate conversations. See the blog for the current book. This does not run monthly, but whenever we finish the book-mag.

10) The Kudos Team: Posts are made directing you to a site with a layout inspiration. To join The Kudos Team with us, simply log in at the site and leave a comment under this layout, ending with :) The Kudos Team :).
We are having a blast surprising complete strangers. Just knowing what the look will be on their face is enough reward, even if we never hear back from them.

11) Design Challenge: On an irregular basis, just going with the flow, we have a design challenge to create elements for digial scrapbooking. Play around with the technique and then share your element on fotki for others to use. It's like creating our own freebies! And what a warm fuzzie we feel when someone else uses your element and shares with the group!
