Painting With Light

Painting with light is a technique where you use a flashlight to "paint" light over objects, during a very long exposure. Sometimes the flashlight might be modified to produce certain effects like using colored gels, narrowing or expanding the beam of light, etc. You can find my photos in my Painting With Light Gallery.

My daughter helped me on a number of these shots, both in setting up the shots, and doing some of the flashlight work. My two favorites are

I love the lighting in this shot but the shot itself is a type of double exposure, also a fluke! You can read about it in the description on the page.
